I am in the Red Deer Support Group and we have been setting up a display at the Red Deer Regional Hospital with much success spreading the word about Celiac Disease. In fact one of the gastroenterologist’s came by this week and asked if we would do up a bunch of information packets. We are also launching a letter writing campaign to various local restaurants…….One small step at a time!!! BTW have you checked out the magazine Living Without?? Geared to people with food allergies like celiac – excellent – I found my first one at Chapters here in RD and am now subscribing.

That makes me sad that no one seemed to care. It seems that most people don’t get it, at least not until they have someone in their life with it. It’s amazing how aware you become when your lifestyle is dramatically changed because of bread! I think maybe, a Fiance wearing a sandwich board is just the thing to get people’s attention! (I’ll let you know how the request goes over!)

Sad news is that nobody really seems to care.
GFP contacted a few mags and newspapers, nobody bothered to call back.

The banners are on the bridges and there are eyeballs, but that may just be not enough.
