Yummy yummy yummy I’ve got pasta in my tummy and it makes me feel alright!
Chianti’s is our new favorite date destination. Not only do they have gluten free pasta for me, but they have non-alcoholic beer for Boyfriend.
I had the Fettuccine Chianti on gluten free pasta and Boyfriend had the Penne Sicilian on gluten free pasta. Can I just say that Boyfriend rocks because he’ll eat gluten free just so that I can try it.
The waitress was great about making sure that there was no cross-contamination and that things were good when I got my food. They really know what gluten free eating is all about and they don’t take chances with your food.
The cherry on top was that they have a creme brule for desert. Its such a treat to be able to go out for dinner and not have to compromise, modify or explain myself. WOOT WOOT.
CAUTION:
The creme brule comes with caramel sauce. It is not gluten free. The wait staff and the kitchen staff thought it was – but trust me it wasn’t! So just ask for it without.
Oh and if you want cheap, easy, great tasting take-out – they have $7.99 pasta deals Sunday through Tuesday. Just call 20 min ahead and they will have it there ready, warm and calling your name.
There are Chianti’s all over the city. Google to find the one near you.
SIDE NOTE:
Since writing this post I have had one Chianti’s experience worth mentioning to you in caution. Willow Park Chianti’s is a little relaxed with their GF practices. I have been poisoned by them before. I’m not sure how it happened. Maybe a lack of knowledge on the part of the kitchen staff, a lack of care on the part of the manager ( I called to make sure our take out was GF and he told me I was crazy it was fine – and it wasnt) or simply that they are so busy they cant always keep tabs on things. Whatever the reason, it has happened and I just want to caution you on it. 1 out 10 is great odds, but please use your instincts and dont take chances.
