EPIC. E-P-I-C. EPIC
That was my holiday season summed up in a four letter word. (it’s usually a different word, shall I let you guess?)
So why was it so EPIC? Because the best things happened!
1. I read the entire Twilight series cover to cover. All FOUR books. Oh ya, even asked for my very own Edward for Christmas. Needless to say I didn’t get one.
2. Christmas with the family was awesome. My niece is two years old and was all about this guy named Santa. However there was one problem- Santa ate her cookie and drank her egg nog. She thought that was rude of him. Like really, didn’t he know that she licked the cookie before putting it on the plate which instantly made it hers! And yes people it was a GF cookie – specifically a Ginger Bread cookie from GF Patisserie. Because who knows if Santa is a Celiac or not. His belly full of jelly could just be gluten bloat!
3. Boxing Day was a resounding success. There were no cross contamination issues. Everyone was very open to the idea of a designated GF Zone. And even more importantly, there were no exposure issues. I would consider that a resounding success.
4. We went to Seattle for New Years. LOVE SEATTLE. It really is one of the greatest and most walkable cities in North America. We spent days walking, shopping, eating, drinking coffee and geeking out at the best tourist locations. (more blogging on the topic to come.)
5. We got engaged. Oh ya people, Boyfriend is now Fiance. In a stunning moment surrounded by fireworks, rain, a security guard and some random pedestrians, Boyfriend asked me to marry him. I said YES but only after asking 3 times if he was sure because there were no take backs with this. I might even call it a movie moment. Boyfriend Fiance has been the greatest addition to my already full life, elevating it from great to extraordinary. And now I get to spend a lifetime with him – always learning, trying new things and living chaotically. I consider myself one of the lucky ones.
So thanks for the break kids. Some time off has renewed my enthusiasm and hopefully replenished my writing abilities.
Cheers to 2009!

Thanks for the congrats! We’re both really excited. And Lynds, if you can’t wait to tast the GF cake does that mean you’ll jump the pond for me?

Oh, I’m jumping the pond. Sooner rather than later. Or, whenever you need me to.
