Are you going to Seattle?
Good choice – Boyfriend and I love it there.
If you’re in Seattle, here are somethings you have to do:
1. Eat at the Hurricane Cafe.
2. Drink Starbucks at the original Starbucks on the pier. And if you don’t want to go all the way down there to stand in line, there is a Starbucks on every corner so pick one. And while you’re there you may as well take a picture of yourself drinking Starbucks in Seattle.
3. Eat tapas at Tango Restaurant and Lounge.
4. Get a tattoo at the Tattoo Emporium.
Okay so here a few more details on the above.
The Hurricane Cafe.
Its a hole in the wall greasy dive of a dinner in the middle of downtown Seattle. Its open 24 hours and serves alcohol. We ate there EVERY morning and had the greatest breakfasts. I always went with the omelet no toast or hash browns. The hash browns are out of a bag and they can’t guarantee they are gluten free. But really who cares because the omelets are so freakin’ awesome that you don’t feel cheated. By our last day there the wait staff knew us and knew not to put gluten containing items on my plate!! I rarely go to greasy spoon places because they always seem to get it wrong, but the Hurricane Cafe always got it right.
REALLY RIGHT.
Starbucks.
Self explanatory. And here is my token “tourist drinking Starbucks in Seattle” picture for your viewing pleasure.
Tango Restaurant and Lounge.
What a wonderful little jewel in downtown Seattle. They have a great menu and a great wine list. There was lots to choose from and everyone can leave happy and healthy. Plus you can have desert. The Lemon Flan, so scrumptious and delicious. My notable personal favourites are: Cheap Dates, Scallop Ceviche, Shrimp Ceviche and Goates Catealoues. Go, eat, drink and be merry.
But make reservations - it’s a busy place. We ate at the bar and had a great time with the bartender, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Tattoo Emporium.
The longest/oldest running tattoo parlor in the United States. It just so happens to be right beside the Tango Restaurant and Lounge. You can have tapas and get tattoos all in the same block. Ask for Tony, he’s awesome and will humor you if you talk to much.
You know you love tattoos. DO IT!!
