I Forgot.

Okay, has this happened to any of you?

Have you forgotten what things taste like?

Can someone please tell me what french toast tastes like, what cheesecake taste like and what a maple creme donut is like. I CAN’T REMEMBER.

It used to be that, the sight of my favourite gluten foods would cause my mouth to water, tears to fall from my eyes and my hands to twitch. Smelling the sweetness of fresh baked bread was my kriptonite – and now I’m finding that I can’t remember.

I know I loved them, I know I miss them, and I know I should feel bad for myself that I can’t eat them – but I don’t know what they actually taste like anymore.

Here’s my dilemma – do I welcome this change because it means that I won’t miss them as much, or do I morn the fact that my body, mind and taste buds have resigned themselves to the fact that food will no longer be the same?

Discuss.

Wow, your right, is it a good thing or just plain sad :0( still to early for me, Cheese is killing me… I want a nice piece of cheese so bad.
French Toast is also one of my vices…love it!!!
My boyfriend, knowing this and my not going out for breakfast rule (4 now) made me French Toast on Sunday, using bread from the GF Patisserie…OMG it was to die for, I thought I had gone to heaven. It did have a slightly different texture but it was a little bit of heaven and that fairy dust you talk about, i think it made it into my french toast.

FAIRY DUST!!! They must have a warehouse full of it.

Don’t give up on breakfast yet – I’m still on a mission to find you the best GF/Lactose Intolerant breakfast joint in the city.

1.5 years sans gluten… totally in the same boat!!! When I THINK I remember what a Blueberry Muffin tastes like, I realise I’ve just fooled myself and I’m remembering the Kinnickinnick GF muffins that are hard and frozen in my freezer. Its sad for me, not going to lie.

Husband tries to make me feel better about it all saying it “tastes horrible” while he tries to hide englufing a Chocolate Volcano Brownie thing from starbucks. But I know he’s lying. LOL

Nellie’s in Marda Loop makes a mean GF omlette. I brought soy cheese once in my purse and they didn’t laugh at me. That was nice. haha
