The most common question I’m asked is: Why don’t you post recipes?
The most common answer I give is: Because I’m the most anti-domestic person in the world.
Even though I’ve said this a million times, people still try to convert me. Saying things like: “it’s easy, try it” and “you can’t be that bad” don’t help. I know who I am and I know what I am – and now you will know exactly what I mean.
Here is what happened when I tried to make muffins:
It doesn’t look so bad right now, does it? Look closer.
Ya, you’re seeing it correctly – that muffin is sinking in the middle. And guess what – it gets better…
You can’t eat them by hand. You have to scoop the crumbs into a bowl and it them with a spoon. In my defense, they are damn tasty. I used Arrowhead Mill’s All Purpose Gluten Free Flour. Please don’t hold my culinary issues against Arrowhead Mill’s. They make a great product. And as I said, the muffins were damn tasty – Apple Crumble Topping Muffins to be exact.
My rockstar parents brought this back for me, and it’s great. Arrowhead Mill’s products are slowly making their way onto the shelves at grovery store’s in Canada. If you see this where you shop, buy it, love it, be better at muffins then I am!

I think the failures make you appreciate the successes so much more!
