Show Me the Buns.

Flames vs Stars.

Caitlin vs Hot Dogs.

Flames 2, Caitlin 0.

We were lucky enough to get some great tickets to the hockey game last night. And really what wasn’t there to be excited about? Great company, we went with a killer photographer we know. A great game, the Flames won. And the sweet smell of awesome Dome food.

Food I can’t eat.

One of the things I can’t seem to be able to get over is hot dogs. The smell of hot dogs filled the dome like a dose of anthrax meant for me and me alone.

So people, maybe you can answer this for me: where are the gluten free hot dog buns? We have access to hamburger buns, flat bread, raisin bread, even pizza pops. So why not hot dog buns? I would think that it’s the next step in a natural progression towards GF domination.  And with the spring and BBQ season coming up, why can’t we have hot dogs too?

Have you found them? Where are they?

Your wish just may come through.

In theory it is already possible. But so far the demand has not kept up with Hamburger Buns…

I know Lauren is itching about a Hot Dog concept at GF Patisserie.

There really is nothing better than a BBQ’d hot dog with all the fixings.

I think part of the issue is that people aren’t aware of how many options there are about the ‘dog’ part of hot dogs. I’ve been seeking out the best dog and I think I may have found it! Stay tuned for that!

GF Patisserie really is the guardian angel of Celiac’s everywhere!

    hi Caitlin,
Well I don’t have your answer for a hot dog bun but will look forward to GF Patisserie putting some on the line… that would be wonderful.
However I do have a comment about the SaddleDome. I too went to a hockey game a while back and it just happened to be at the same time as the home show so we went to both. I was thinking, there has to be something to eat at the hockey game, a salad somewhere. I just about started to cry in my drink when I realized there was nothing for me to eat.
We ended up at the Wiskey Pub upstairs and the kind waitress said I could have the nacho’s with no cheese. Wasn’t really what I wanted but was grateful to have something in me that was food.
Ive been talking about writing them, there is nothing healthy in the whole place and the so called deli – everything had huge buns on it.
Well thats my rant for the day, keep us in the loop on the hotdogs.

    Hi Karen.

Thanks for the rant. It’s exactly how we all feel about the Dome and about events at the Dome. If you do speak to them please let me know what they say. I’d be interested to hear if they respond.

I hear you about the deli issue. Not only is everything on a bun, but I don’t trust that the deli meat is GF.

Oh I’ll let you all know about the hot dogs as soon as I have it all ironed out. I am determined to have hot dogs this summer!

Do not despair. First versions are out of the oven, final version should be up for sale next week.
    Call GF Patisserie first.

And then there was a blogger is tears! You honestly have the best job ever. Taste testing great GF goodness straight from the oven. If you ever choose to retire from that job, you know where to find me.
