Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of talk about breakfast on this site. Breakfast as a Celiac can be a very challenging thing. Gone are the days of Phil’s pancakes, Humpties Cowboy Breakfast and my personal favourite: McDonald’s Sausage and Egg McGriddle.
To be honest though, the struggle for me hasn’t been so much the loss of such great breakfast foods, but the loss of convenience. I simply don’t have the time in the morning to get up and make eggs, or bacon etc. To make matters worse – I’m an intolerable human being if I don’t eat within an hour of my feet touching the ground.
INTOLERABLE!
As a result of the green eyed monster I can become, boyfriend and I went on a mission to find a great GF cereal. Something that can go from box, to bowl, to mouth in T-minus 5 seconds. Taste was also a large contributing factor, I wasn’t about to eat soggy flakes of mush. No, it had to taste good.
And what did we find?
EnviroKidz Gluten Free Cereal!!! (Made by Nature’s Path)
My personal favourites are Peanut Butter Panda Puffs and Koala Crisps. Gorilla Munch is good, but not as awesome as the Panda’s and Koala’s. AND there’s an added bonus to EnviroKidz products. One percent of profits go directly to help wildlife all around the world. So not only are eating cereal, but you are saving the environment. You’ve already done your bit for humanity before you even leave the house! Look at you eating breakfast and saving the world – eat on.
Side Note: EnviroKidz also makes granola bars and cookies with their cereal. I personally have never tried them; I like my cereal in milk, not squished together with sugar. But that’s a personal preference, so if you try their other products please share with us your thoughts.
Where to Find EnviroKidz: Community Natural, Co-op, Superstore, and Planet Organic.
Happy Eating Everyone.

I just want to confirm something:
Rumor’s of Caitlin’s intolerable nature without breakfast are not over exaggerated.
That being said, Koala Crisps are sensationally tasty.

Get a buddy from the US to send you a box of Cocoa Pebbles. You will love them.

We’re actually spending New Years in Seattle this year – looks like I should bring an extra suitcase to bring back coffee and cereal!

Thanks for the pictures – it will make the rush through the isles a lot easier. It constantly amazes me the lengths we will all go for good tasting GF foods.

Seattle.
If you got time, try to find a Whole Foods. If for nothing else, the experience of what’s out there in GF paradise, south of the border.

I’ve heard great things about Whole Foods. My mom was recently in Virgina and brought back lots of goodies. I think my entire shopping budget is going to go to food instead of clothes and shoes! Or maybe I’ll just have to increase the shopping budget.
