My first thought when I read about this on Hold The Gluten was: Will my adopted parents buy me a puppy? But then I moved on and looked into the idea a little more closely.

Book of Yum presents: Adopt a GF Blogger.

Synopsis:

In the interest of getting to know members of our gluten-free community better and motivating ourselves to try each other’s mouth-watering recipes, I suggest that we each “adopt” a different GF blogger. Then write a post sometime in the next two weeks before the deadline about your adopted blogger, his/her blog, and a recipe that you tried recently. I think it’s probably best to just link to your adopted blogger’s recipe rather than posting it in your blog. Please follow your chosen recipe as printed, making only minor changes for reasons of allergy or veg/non-veg diet. Once you adopt a blogger, you have until the event end date (approximately 2 weeks from the opening of event) to try a recipe and blog about blogger and their recipe. *You don’t have to host recipes at your site to ADOPT someone and blog about their recipes. Also, for those who are adopted- don’t worry! You don’t have to reciprocate and adopt anyone (not even the person who adopted you) unless you want to. ~ Book of Yum

I think this is a brilliant idea. Having Celiac Disease is not just a Canadian phenomenon, nor is it just an American Disease. Why not pool our resources, learn from one another and make some friends in other places.

As a new blogger I’ve received amazing support and encouragement from the community, and now we have another great way to spread the love and support each other.

Kind of like a big giant gluten free group hug!

Okay sign up fast to adopt me – you know I’m just so awesome that I will go fast.
