The Sharks are Circling.

I’m the first to admit it. There is a large contingent of people that don’t get any love on this site. People who like to cook and bake. They don’t get any love on this site because I don’t cook etc. Another contingent of people that get ignored – parents and kids and their parent/kid problems. I’m not a parent, and no matter how hard I try, I’m not really a kid anymore either. Thus, I tend to ignore the issues that matter to them.

Today however, I am all about the kids and their parents. Go Offspring!

Recently, while watching The Shark Tank, Fiance and I saw something genius, something gluten free. It’s called Soy-Yer Dough. Basically, it’s PlayDoh, without all the gluten.

As an Aunt I knew that PlayDoh was 99% gluten. I knew that if the PlayDoh came out, Fiance was in. I mean really there is nothing like bonding with your Uncle over PlayDoh Castles and Oreo Cookies. Seriously people, what are gluten eating Uncles for if you can’t take advantage of them!

My awareness stopped there.

Soy-Yer Dough, however, made me pause for a moment and think about the kid on the other side of the story. The Celiac Kid who couldn’t play with PlayDoh, and the poor parent of that kid that had to be a joy sucker every time they told Little Timmy that he couldn’t play with his friends. That would suck. Which is what makes this Gluten Free Play Dough so awesome. Being a kid is hard enough to navigate, and even harder when you can’t be like every other kid out there. Now Timmy can have his Play Dough and even eat it too! Move over paste, there is a new Sheriff in Town.

Now, if you don’t have kids and this doesn’t really register on your radar screen – please take this piece of advice. Watch The Shark Tank, or even better, watch The Dragon’s Den. The Dragon’s Den is the Canadian version, the original version, the best version.  The show is epic. You get to watch really rich people make and break the dreams of many an entrepreneur.

Wait, hold on, stop giving me that look.

I know it sounds bad to watch the hard working man get his ideas handed to him on platter and be told that he is going no where. Just trust. Fiance is an entrepreneur of sorts and he thinks that the show is epic. Especially Kevin from Canada. You will find yourself falling madly in love with him. With lines like: “Don’t walk into my kitchen and expect not to be burned” or “You’re an idiot and I can’t save you from yourself” how could you not? The truth just never gets told like this anymore.

Happy GF Dough Day
