To Heinz or not to Heinz, that is the question.

I’m in love and I can’t control it.

I LOVE KETCHUP.

Ketchup is the be all and end all of all things culinary. If I had to choose between putting ketchup on my food or saving Boyfriend from a stampede of fat kids going after the ice creme truck – I’d say “all bones heal so give me the ketchup”.

Before you all jump to Boyfriends defense, he knows this and he signed on with this knowledge.

One of things I learned quickly is that not all Ketchup is created equal. Lots of the generic ketchup’s contain modified cornstarch and/or malt vinegar. These things are NOT okay. These things contain gluten. These things turn a great ketchup experience into an experience of bloat, nausea and crankiness. Generic Ketchup is the anti-christ.

So you can just imagine how things went when I started to discover (the hard way) that the ketchup in the Heinz bottle at some restaurants is in fact NOT Heinz. You see everyone loves Heinz and restaurants know it. They also know that perfection like that of the Heinz brand costs money. So in order to save money, they bank on consumer stupidity. They bank on you not being able to distinguish between the ketchup they put in the bottle and what is on the label – HEINZ.

So eater beware. just because the label says Heinz, does not mean that the bottle contains Heinz. Every time you sit down at a restaurant to eat you are on a blind date with the ketchup.

DATERS BEWARE.
